I often think that the good reviews for bad films are left by relatives of the people involved in the production. Other good reviews are left by pretentious viewers, who like to claim that they see the true worth of a movie. This is one of those. Better to avoid and instead, go and watch some paint dry.

Doing that you are sucked with the characters into the Cult adoring the solstace. And just when you think, whatthe hell, the real horror comes in, and the gorehounds will love it. The rock scene will disgust many but those who dig ultra gore will love this. Further on you will have a love scene but how the cult react to that, another one that will disgust a lot.
If you are into flicks about a cult and can stand gore and nudity then this is for you, otherwise you will left with a bitter feeling.

My problem with the story as a whole is the fact that, the villagers are so easy to see the outsiders as evil when in truth they either don't understand the rituals or in Josh and Christian's cases in the begining are trying to. On top of that, the villagers see the outsiders as evil to be purged but they THEMSELVES are evil as a whole. The villagers use religion as excuse to kill while top of it commit A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER SINS on their own. The villagers lie, cheat, manipulate use way too much drugs for their own good, use sex to get what they want, sacrifice their elderly, ALMOST commit child sacrifice, capture, cage and then MUTILATE a bear and even purposely induce incest to create their oricle. If Dani had any last bit of teeny-tiny sense, she should've burn the whole village down with herself included.
